Marine Corps Exchange employees prepare for ‘Black Friday’

Marine Corps Exchange employees are preparing for “Black Friday” this week, unloading pallets full of merchandise to stock shelves.

Deeply-discounted televisions, tablets, computers, toys and purses are just a few of the items.

“We have something for everybody in the family,” Sheila Andrews, store manager, MCX, said.

The store will be fully stocked with merchandise and the entire staff is scheduled to work to ensure customers are assisted as quickly as possible.

“Everybody (who) works here will be here on Friday,” Andrews said.

Adrianna Butler, senior sales associate, MCX, has a game plan to handle the long day and steady stream of customers.

“I am going to eat good, rest well and make sure I have on comfortable jeans and shoes to survive Friday,” she said.

The Black Friday Doorbusters Sale will begin Friday at 6 a.m. and end at 1 p.m. Every customer will be greeted with a free cup of coffee and have an opportunity to win one of 100 MCX egift cards to be given away throughout the Marine Corps.

Shopping at the MCX during Black Friday is a win-win situation for customers. According to Butler, the crowds are never as chaotic or large as in the malls. Also, Andrews said MCX has implemented a price matching policy. If an item is listed at a lower price somewhere else, MCX will honor that price. The only stipulation is it must be the same item.

“We want you to come see us Friday,” Andrews said. “We will give you some coffee and sell you some stuff at great prices.”
