MARINE CORPS LOGISTICS BASE ALBANY, GA -- A men's health forum kicked off here Sept. 25 at the Base Theater.
Throughout the event, speakers gave information for men of all ages and ethnic backgrounds.
Topics ranged from sports medicine to dieting and nutrition.
After the doctors gave each presentation, they opened the floor to the audience for both personal and general health related questions.
Between speakers, attendees visited displays set up by local health officials and businesses, and collected handouts and informative pamphlets.
Many who attended said they found the forum very beneficial and informative and that being able to ask specific questions of trained professionals without having to pay consultation fees was especially helpful.
"This forum was really a good idea," one doctor halfway jokingly commented after concluded his presentation. "If you came in to see me in my office, that speech would have cost you $80, and here you have it for free."
Marines and civilians were invited to the event, and both shared in the question and answer period equally.
Overall, the forum gave men an opportunity to learn more about the standards of good health and how to achieve their physical fitness goals through exercise, diet and/or prescription drugs or supplements.
