DETAILS: Beginning Monday 23 October CAC encoding for access control to buildings and rooms with card readers will be available at Building 3010 Monday to Thursday 0800 to 1100

 

New personnel requiring CAC access to buildings and rooms need to coordinate with their command, division, section access control custodian or access control officer to ensure a CAC encoding form, identifying all access requirements, is completed, and forwarded to the MCPD Physical Security Office.

 

Personnel with previous access must coordinate with their command, division, section access control custodian or access control officer to ensure an e-mail, verifying continued access approval, is forwarded to the MCPD Physical Security Office. 

 

Only the access control officer or access control custodian may request CAC encoding.

DETAILS:  The "Spooktacular" Festival is an annual Halloween themed base-wide event on Friday, October 27. Beginning at 1900, "The Haunted Mansion (2023)" will be projected on an outdoor movie screen.  A second feature, “Insidious,” will be begin at 2100.  Attendees are encouraged to wear costumes, bring a bag for collecting candy, and a blanket for the outdoor movie..

Employees are able to make changes to their Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB) and Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Programs (FEDVIP) enrollments and elect to participate in the Federal Flexible Spending Account Program (FSAFEDS). The effective date of the 2023 FEHB Open season is 14 January 2024.

 

2. Premiums are available on the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) website at https://www.opm.gov/healthcare-insurance/healthcare/plan-information/premiums/. Enrollees should carefully check the 2024 rates of their current plan and any other plan choices they are considering for 2024. In some cases, premiums for the Self Plus One enrollment type may be higher than for the Self and Family enrollment type.

TOPIC/EVENT: Tree Clearing and Debris Pile Burning

 

DATE/EVENT: October 19 to November 30

DETAILS: The Base Environmental Branch will have contractors working at the fenced in landfill on the north side of the Base from October 19 to November 30. The contractors will be removing dead and storm damaged trees on the landfill and clearing the fence line around the landfill location south of North Shaw Rd (Perimeter Rd), west of Doe Alley and north of Pea Patch Rd. The debris will be placed in piles at designated locations in and around the landfill for burning.  Debris burning will only be conducted on days when the weather conditions are favorable, approved by the Georgia Forestry Commission and MCLB Albany personnel. Do not enter the woods near the landfill location as heavy equipment will be operating along the perimeter of the fenced area. Smoke from the debris pile burning is not expected to have any impact on MCLB Albany personnel or daily operations.
