Mission Statement

The mission of the Public Affairs Office is to be the commander’s voice to a wide range of audiences. This is done by communicating command information rapidly and accurately, being proactive and responsive to external media requests, and by developing MCLB Albany’s relationship with the Albany community. The Public Affairs Office operates under the Department of Defense’s policy of “Maximum Disclosure, Minimum Delay.”

Internal Information

The Public Affairs Office is committed to communicating command information quickly and accurately to members of MCLB Albany and tenants.

The Emblem – The Emblem is a commercial enterprise newspaper and is an authorized publication for members of the military services. The contents do not necessarily reflect the official views of the U.S. Government, the Department of Defense or the U.S. Marine Corps, and do not imply endorsement thereof. The Emblem is distributed weekly to approximately 3,500 readers every Thursday. The public affairs office welcomes submissions for publication from members of the base or tenant commands.
