February 19, 2015 --
There is a new face in the halls at Naval Branch Health Clinic, Albany.
Lt. Bruce Burke, physician assistant, joins the NBHC Albany team, coming from Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. He will serve as an occupational health provider as well as a part-time primary care physician.
Burke brings more than 14 years of patient care and 11 years of lab experience to the clinic. He expects to be here for at least three years, possibly a little longer.
“It’s nice to be in a clinic setting again,” he said.
Burke revealed he has not had an assignment in a clinic setting since 2001 and looks forward to the change.
Lt. Cmdr. Donald Mitchell, senior nurse executive, NBHC Albany, said he is very pleased to have Burke as a part of the team.
“He comes with a wealth of knowledge and will fill a dire need,” Mitchell said.
He explained the position has been unfilled for more than a year and having Burke on staff will provide more timely appointments for patients.
“He is here, ready to hit the ground running and we are happy to have him,” Mitchell said.
