ITT offers leisure for less

The summer travel season officially began Memorial Day weekend and will run through Labor Day.  Now that Marines and other personnel are well into the middle of the summer, there is still time left to get some great deals on a lot of fun destinations.

But wait! Don’t purchase those over-the-counter tickets, yet.

Officials at the Information, Tickets and Tours Office located in the rear of the Marine Corps Exchange here, encourage travelers to contact them prior to planning their vacations or day-trips to area attractions.

“We serve active-duty military, retirees, reservists and all base employees,” said Sue Truver, office manager, ITT, Marine Corps Community Services, Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany.  “Our office is known as the discount headquarters because we offer discount tickets for attractions in Georgia such as Wild Adventures, Six Flags and the Georgia Aquarium, as well as other locations.”

Truver said they also offer discount tickets to theme parks in Orlando, Fla., such as Sea World, Disney and Universal Studios. ITT also sells tickets to sporting events, concerts, museums, amusement parks and zoos.

“Right now Walt Disney World is offering a very good promotion for active-duty military and retirees,” she said.  “They can get a four-day ticket for $138 per person for ages 3 and up.  This is a great value and travelers can also get lodging on site and a meal plan, all at a great rate. Many people do not realize we also offer tickets to attractions in Tennessee and California. Another service we pro-

vide is discount hotel and condo reservations.       We can also book three and four-bedroom home rentals and travelers don’t have to worry about quality lodging, because we have booked a lot of properties and are very familiar with them. We also do follow-up calls.”

Truver noted the various locations have to meet ITT standards, so when a person turns the knob to a place they booked that individual is satisfied.

“We strive for complete satisfaction,” she said. “We offer many options and locations for travel based on a person’s budget and family status. We have something for everyone.”

Navy Corpsman Lennox Bennett, Inspector-Instructor staff, Detachment 2, Supply Company, 4th Supply Battalion, 4th Marine Logistics Group, Albany, Ga., said he used ITT for tickets to the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta, Ga.

“Using the service here was very simple because not only did I get great rates to take my family, I was able to go through the short lines and enjoy my visit,” he said.  “Getting my tickets at ITT certainly beat waiting in the long lines to get tickets there, plus I didn’t have to come out of pocket as much.  The aquarium was wonderful and we had a great time.”

Bennett said having the ITT service available makes it easier to plan his family vacations.

ITT has plenty of information to help individuals decide where they want to go. The services they offer to eligible personnel are about improving the quality of life and the office serves as a one-stop shop.

“We invite everyone to come into our office - first - to see what we have to offer if they are even thinking about a vacation,” Truver said. “Our goal is to save them money, regardless of where they want to go.”

ITT does not offer cruises or airline tickets, but can refer individuals to other bases who have full-service travel agencies.
