Several Apache, Chinook and Black Hawk helicopters were offloaded from the Cape Race, a vehicle carrier stationed in Norfolk, Virginia, during a four-day, joint redeployment operation aboard Marine Corps Support Facility, Blount Island Command, Jacksonville, Fla., Jan. 13-17. Soldiers with the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade, Fort Campbell, Ky., nicknamed the “Wings of Destiny,” returned to BICmd from their nine-month deployment to Afghanistan.
