Carroll III, commanding officer, Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany, joins other local dignitaries, hundreds of veterans and community members for the dedication ceremony for the Broad Avenue Veterans Memorial Bridge, Nov. 11. “Thank you for your strong support of the military, he said. “MCLB Albany has been an integral part of this community and Southwest Georgia and the bond we share is just as strong today as it was in 1952. Many of the veterans here today have come through MCLB Albany and have remained here as retirees and employees. In my almost 30 years in the Marine Corps, I have traveled across this great nation and I have never run across a community that has a stronger bond with retirees as well as active duty that exists here in Albany, Georgia.”
