A Gulf Fritillary, otherwise known as the Passion Butterfly, helps pollinate a flower in Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany’s Nature Center garden by carring pollen from plant to plant, recently. The pollen helps fruits, vegetables and flowers to produce new seeds. The Gulf Fritillary is one of the most common butterflies on the installation.
