Col. Jeffrey Hooks, commander, Marine Depot Maintenance Command, slices the first piece of cake during the celebration of the 239th Marine Corps Birthday held at MDMC, Nov. 5. During the ceremony, the oldest Marine present, William Soto (left inset photo), who enlisted in the Marine Corps in April 1973, passed a slice of cake to the youngest Marine present, Pfc. Marcus Palmer, who enlisted March 2014. Soto works in the Cost Work Center 272, Engineering Equipment Repair Shop, MDMC, while Palmer works in Enterprise Distribution Department, Distribution Management Center, MDMC.
