Gen. Joseph F. Dunford Jr., now the 36th Commandant of the Marine Corps, engages his Marines through a letter he wrote. Dunford became commandant Friday at Marine Barracks Washington, D.C., during a change of command and retirement ceremony. He replaced Gen. James F. Amos, who retired after more than 40 years of service.
