A worker watches as a crane operator removes the plenum from the top of an amphibious assault vehicle during a disassembly process, Oct. 8 at Marine Depot Maintenance Command. The AAV is being repaired and restored like new following its use in combat. There are several stages of the repair process and it will be returned to the Marine Corps’ operating forces once the process is completed. Before workers began disassembling the AAV, others conducted the first stage of the repair process, a limited technical inspection on it.
