Consuming the recommended number of servings of fruits and vegetables daily helps decrease the risk of various chronic diseases such as heart disease, cancer, diabetes and hypertension. The U.S. Department of Agriculture recommends filling half your plate with fruits and vegetables.

Hermesmann, 4th Marine Logistics Group, New Orleans, Louisiana, delivers a motivational speech on leadership. Hermesmann encouraged the corporals to include "four ships" as they journey through their time in the Corps: "leadership, mentorship, partnership and friendship.” The training was conducted as part of the noncommissioned officers' Professional Military Education.
