MARINE CORPS LOGISTICS BASE ALBANY -- Azalea R. Fluellen, acting grocery manager, Commissary, Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany, was recently recognized with an honorable mention for the Defense Commissary Agency 2016 Director's Customer Service Award.
The award was in recognition of exemplary customer service provided to DECA customers.
“This was truly an honor and I was very pleased to have been given such a prestigious award from the Defense Commissary Agency,” Fluellen said. “This (award) was totally unexpected as there is nothing better that I like than giving first-class customer service to our patrons.
“All our customers are very special and I take great pride in being able to assist them with their everyday needs even if it’s just listening to them talk about life in general,” she added. “The Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany Commissary thanks each and every one of them for patronizing the Commissary and we also thank them for their military service.”
The award citation stated that Fluellen’s dedication to the mission and consistently promoting customer service excellence had been outstanding. Her superior service has brought great distinction to the MCLB Commissary Albany, Zone 2, and the Defense Commissary Agency.
Patricia Wilson is a frequent shopper at MCLB Albany’s Commissary. She has been shopping at the Commissary for nearly four years and seeks out Fluellen for coupons.
“I have eight dogs and I like shopping at the Commissary because they have the best prices on dog food,” Wilson said.
William Easter, store manager, MCLB Albany Commissary, said Azalea, who has been designated as MCLB Albany’s Commissary Customer Service Ambassador, has taken her role to heart.
“Her outgoing personality has contributed greatly to building and maintaining enduring customer relationships, which in turn helped boost sales and generate repeat business for the Albany Commissary,” Easter said. “The recognition Azalea received is a true testament to how well she provides customer service to our great patrons.”
