August 28, 2015 --
Federal Emergency Management Agency officials pre-stage about 75 trailers at Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany’s Civilian Human Resources
Office — Southeast parking lot, in preparation for Tropical Storm Erika, which
is forecast to hit Florida, Aug. 31.
The FEMA trailers contain emergency supplies - primarily
food, water and power generation equipment that may be needed in the event the
storm makes landfall early next week and impacts Georgia, or any of its
neighboring states, to include Florida and South Carolina.
The trailers began arriving at about 1 p.m. Aug. 28, and will
continue to fill the CHRO-SE parking lot throughout the weekend. No hazardous
materials are contained in the trailers.
