Col. James C. Carroll III, commanding officer, Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany, presented a coin to Vincent Hairston, medical support assistant, Veterans Affairs Community-Based Outpatient Clinic, during a brief ceremony at the clinic housed aboard MCLB Albany, Aug. 7.

Hairston provided outstanding customer service to U.S. Army veteran, Cedrick Richardson, in need of around-the-clock care.

Carroll praised Hairston’s efforts in representing the base and the VA clinic in a positive manner.

After family members were unsuccessful in obtaining suitable living conditions for more than two weeks, they visited the VA clinic here. They said Hairston diligently worked and was able to successfully get Richardson housed in the Georgia War Veterans Home in Milledgeville, Georgia.

Richardson, a 22-year veteran, expressed his gratitude for the hard work and diligence Hairston displayed in assisting him to obtain suitable housing.

His sister shared her appreciation for the courtesy and commitment shown by Hairston in a letter she sent to the clinic.
