Angelo Knox with the Equal Employment Opportunity Office seemed to enjoy holding “Izzy Real,” a 3-pound, 3-year-old alligator, under the watchful eyes of Tim Williams, dean of gator wrestling with Gatorland, Orlando, Fla., during Information, Tickets and Tours’ 17th Annual Travel and Recreation Trade Show aboard Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany, March 18.

Thirty-four vendors from Georgia, Florida and Tennessee showcased theme parks, hotels, historical sites and more through brochures, pamphlets and souvenirs as well as the small alligator whose moniker, according to Williams, came from people always asking is he real.

Even though the alligator seemed to be the top attraction, Knox, Master Sgt. Robbie Peterson with Marine Corps Logistics Command, and many other Marines, civilian-Marines, contractors and family members filled bags with collected information.

According to Sue Truver, Information, Tickets and Tours, the show at Thomason Gymnasium gave participants “ideas about travel and promoted various travel destinations.”

Recently stationed here, Peterson attended his first travel show “to see what the great state of Georgia and nearby areas have to offer. The vendors helped me plan a summer trip for my kids.

“I found out a lot of good information,” he added.
