In spite of Monday’s rainy conditions, roughly 2,200 spectators from the local and surrounding communities watched the Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon’s, the Marine Corps Color Guard’s and “The Commandant’s Own” Marine Corps Drum and Bugle Corps’ dazzling performances at the Battle Color Detachment Ceremony at Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany. The event showcased the Marine Corps as well as allowed it to show its appreciation to the community, according to Col. Don Davis, commanding officer, MCLB Albany. “This is a great opportunity for our Marines to see some of their own they have never seen before and it is also a great opportunity to show our appreciation to Albany,” Davis said.
