02/27/2013 -- Marines with Marine Corps Logistics Command practice precision color guard movements recently in front of Marine Depot Maintenance Command.
Color sergeant, Sgt. Jeffrey Wanliss; Marine Corps colors bearer Sgt. Robert Mann; rifle bearers, Cpl. Robert Smith IV and Lance Cpl. Jacob Colvin repeat those movements many times to make sure they are ready to perform at numerous MCLC and community events.
“We do it for hours on end because we have numerous ceremonies (where) we have a lot of spectators (who) have never seen us or a Marine Corps Color Guard, so we want to do it perfectly,” Wanliss said.
In addition to practicing the color guard movements, the Marines also rehearse in bad weather such as strong winds that may cause the flags to whip around.
Representing MCLC is an honor they love the four color guard members noted.
