LOGCOM names contracts director

Larry Pendley has been selected and promoted to the director, Contracts Department, Marine Corps Logistics Command.

As the director, he is responsible for acquisition requirements for Marine Corps worldwide wholesale and selected retail supply chain management activities. These include ground weapon systems and secondary repairables from private and public sources.

“Larry has extensive experience supporting our depots and supporting our efforts in operational logistics. We look forward to continued great things from Larry now that he has taken the reins,” said Michael T. Madden, executive deputy, Marine Corps Logistics Command.

Pendley also manages the contracting mission for LOGCOM, including such programs as the Consolidated Storage Program, Fourth Echelon of Maintenance /Secondary Repairable Integrator, Joint Equipment Assessment Program/NBC, Contractor Logistical Support for multiple Marine Corps weapons systems, support to Maintenance Centers Albany and Barstow, support service requirements, advisory and assistance services, information technology assets and services, and requirements of multiple Department of Defense customers external to the Marine Corps.

“My vision for the future is to continue to foster the development of the contracts department as a valued purveyor of business solutions for LOGCOM,” said Pendley.  

As a senior contracting official, he has management responsibilities for the contracting activity performed at LOGCOM using appropriated funds, and provides advice on requests on command policy or programs.

During his career in federal service, he has worked in support of many high visibility projects to include the Maritime Prepositioned Ships Program, the Marine Corps Research University, Consolidated Storage Program, Chemical /Biological /Radiological/Nuclear Response Force, Fourth Echelon of Maintenance /Secondary Reparable Integrator, Joint Equipment Assessment Program/NBC, as well as numerous up-armoring projects for various platforms in support of Operations Desert Storm, Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.

Pendley is a native of Albany, Ga. and has worked for the federal government since 1986.
