Safety a Priority at MCLB Albany During Hurricane Helene

26 Sep 2024 | Kerri Copello Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany

Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany continues to track Hurricane Helene into South Georgia. Our priority is the safety of our residents and workforce. To provide personnel adequate time to prepare for the storm, MCLB Albany is open to mission essential personnel through 0600, September 28.  The VA Clinic, Naval Branch Health Clinic, Navy Federal Credit Union, Marine Corps Exchange and Commissary will be closed during the same times.

“We are prepared to ride out the storm and mitigate any significant impacts,” said Col. Matthew McKinney, commanding officer, MCLB Albany.  “A local curfew is in effect and only essential workers should be on the roads. So far we have had tropical force winds and a lot of rain.  Stay inside and be safe.”

MCLB Albany will resume normal operations on Monday, September 30.
