Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany hosted the GJDC led by Chairman William Ball (Former Secretary of the Navy). The GJDC was established by Georgia Governor Brian Kemp in 2018 under Senate Bill 395 to make recommendations regarding policies and plans to support the long-term viability and development of the military, both active and civilian in the state of Georgia. The commissioners and guests received command briefs from Col. Michael Fitzgerald, commanding officer, MCLB Albany, Maj. Gen. Joseph Shrader, commanding general, Marine Corps Logistics Command and and overview of overview of Townsend Bombing Range from Col. Karl Arbogast, commanding officer, Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, S.C. The GJDC is made up of Georgia State Senators, Georgia State Representatives and Governor Appointees. Also in attendance were representatives from other military installations, Chambers of Commerce and staffers from the Office of the Governor, Office of U.S. Senator's Warnock and Ossoff and the Office of Congressman Sanford Bishop.
