A Message from the Commanding Officer

As the Commanding Officer of Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany, I am honored to continue building upon the exceptional relationships, innovative energy and other “first” initiatives that exist between the base, tenant commands, community and the state. Our readiness to supporting future force requirements remains critical to ensuring MCLB Albany continues building upon its success for years to come in support of the warfighter. Even with a change in DOD priorities that includes infrastructure reset, there are numerous positive impacts to this installation including job creation, economic growth, innovation and other local long-term initiatives. We have several notable and significant accomplishments, worldwide impacts and resiliency programs.
As one of the six installations under Marine Corps Installations East, we are home to Marine Corps Logistics Command, Marine Depot Maintenance Command, Marine Force Storage Command and host other tenants who support the warfighter. In all, more than 40 tenant organizations call our installation “home,” to include the Department of Defense’s Humanitarian Assistance Program, Georgia Army National Guard, the Albany Veterans Affairs community-based Outpatient Clinic and Naval Facilities Engineering Command, just to name a few. We also boast community partnerships that further strengthen the installation mission, bolsters the local economy and improve quality of life for all Marines, sailors and soldiers.
MCLB Albany supports a total population of more than 13,000 that includes active-duty and their families, civilians, contractors and retirees. In December 2024, the Defense Commissary Agency launched a pilot at select military bases, including Albany. This was extended to December 2025 due to the program’s success. In addition, MCLB Albany was named home of All-Marine Sports, and this will continue indefinitely.
We are excited to have nearly finished military construction project P947, a $27.5M Welding and Body Repair Facility and expect to complete P976U, a $4.8M project to improve the commercial entrance on Mock Road, as well as a much-anticipated $7.5M Military Working Dog Kennel Renovation and Replacement project; all three of these projects will facilitate our mission of global tenant support, security of the installation, and providing modern, efficient, and resilient facilities and infrastructure - all of which improve our support to the warfighters!
As we look forward to a future that’s uncertain and celebrating the Corps’ 250th birthday, we look back on our many accomplishments. My team and I look forward to the next phase of strengthening our existing local partnerships, while continuing to provide vital support to our tenants, the Marine Corps, DOD and this community. We are exceptionally proud to be the only Marine Corps installation in the state of Georgia, and honored to reside alongside the great members of our Southwest Georgia community.
