Promotion and command photos are taken by the Communication Strategy & Operations Office staff Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30-10:30 a.m., in 30 minute increments. The studio is located in the COMMSTRAT Office (formerly PAO), Building 3500, Room 13.
Tattoo photos must be arranged by the Career Planner (Base or LOGCOM) and are not required to be taken by a staff member in the COMMSTRAT Office.
Appointments MUST be made in advance. It is important to schedule promotion photo appointments several weeks prior to the promotion board convening. All appointments are booked on first-come, first-serve basis. Due to a staffing shortage, we cannot assist walk-ins.
For promotion photos, all ranks must have a staff noncommissioned officer/officer present during the session. COMMSTRAT staff members are not allowed to adjust uniforms in any way. Service members should arrive on time and in the proper uniform. They should also ensure their ribbons are in the proper order and their uniforms fit.
Each Marine is required to bring a height and weight form with them to their scheduled appointment. Photos will not be processed without the form, which can be obtained at the Marine's respective company office or training section.
