Marines

When checking aboard base, base maps and directions can be obtained at the main entrance of the installation by Marine Corps Police Department officers.

Transportation

Commercial bus service is not available between the Marine Corps Logistics Base and the city of Albany. Base Garrison Mobile Equipment Branch provides transportation to and from the Albany airport and the Greyhound bus station for those going to or returning from official travel. This does not include individuals going on leave.

GME has a dispatcher on duty weekdays from 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., except holidays. The dispatcher can be reached at (229) 639-5665/5639. For transportation after normal working hours, call the Officer of the Day at (229) 639-5206. Other bus service is provided for Marines, sailors and their dependents stationed at MCLB Albany for events in the local area that has been scheduled through the Information, Tickets and Tours Office located at the Marine Corps Exchange.

Reporting Aboard

The Military Personnel Center serves as the conduit of administrative functions for all Marines aboard MCLB Albany. It is the initial point of entry/departure for Marines to check-in or check-out of the base. Additionally, it provides numerous services including issuing Permanent Change of Station (PCS) orders and Temporary Additional Duty (TAD) orders, processing travel claims, conducting audits, processing of correspondence, entitlements and training entries. Hours of operations are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For more information, call (229) 639-7150/6995.

During Working Hours

Marines should be directed to report to the IPAC, located in building 3500, room 315, to start their formal check-in to the command.

After normal working hours and weekends

Marines reporting in to the command after normal working hours, weekends, and holidays should report to the Officer of the day (OOD), located inside the main entrance to building 3500. The OOD will endorse a copy of their orders, with the time and date of their arrival, and will also retain a copy of the orders to be turned into the IPAC on the morning of the next working day. The OOD will direct the Marine, on the next normal working day, to report into the IPAC at 0730, in uniform and with original orders. All single Marines (Sgt and below), will be directed by the OOD to report to the Barracks Duty NCO for assignment of a barracks room. All other Marines (Married, SNCO's, and Officers) can make prior reservations for billeting aboard the Base before reporting in, or acquire billeting out in town until a permanent place of billeting is established.
