The Commandant of the Marine Corps General Robert Neller released a White Letter 1-19 on Marine Housing Outreach, Feb. 22. The White Letter directs Marine Corps leaders to request a voluntary home visit for each Marine & Sailor in their command who reside on base or in rented housing off base in order to provide advocacy & support for those service members.

We have provided information for family and bachelor housing, temporary lodging, and off base housing. Family Housing Overview

Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany, Georgia has attractive, modern and up-to-date homes located on base. Housing is managed by Liberty Military Housing. You can gain valuable information by visiting the website: https://www.livelmh.com

Although we encourage service members and their families to view the Liberty Military Housing website; the assignment process begins with the Liberty Military Housing Office. Our personnel will gladly answer your questions and assist you in the assignment process.

Liberty Military Housing Office

Service members are required to check in with the Liberty Military Housing Office located at 12036 Putnam Boulevard before entering into a lease or agreement in the community. Housing Referral services are available for all military and DoD civilian personnel.

Application for Assignment

The first step in the assignment process for family housing is to contact the Liberty Military Housing Office at 229-639-5962/3. Our toll free number is 1-800-707-3614 and our fax is 229-639-5618. You will then be briefed on the application process.

Availability

If you have questions regarding the wait time for your rank and bedroom entitlement, please call the Liberty Military Housing Office at 229-639-5962 or DSN 567-5962.

Waiting Time

After receipt of your application and orders, a DD Form 1747 (status of housing availability) will be forwarded to you informing you of the waiting time for your rank and bedroom eligibility. All waiting times are approximate and subject to change. You will also receive an information package with point of contact numbers and websites to assist with your move.

ADA Housing

Eight units have been designated as being handicapped accessible. If you or a family member is a member of the exceptional family member program, the representative at your present command will need to contact the manger of the EFMP program at MCLB Albany at 229-639-5277 or DSN 567-5277. The EFMP program manager will assist you with the documentation process.

Community Housing

The Housing Referral Office is located at 12036 Putnam Boulevard in the community center with Liberty Military Housing. This office will assist you in locating a suitable rental or purchase in the local community. Please check with the office before signing a lease or agreement.

Temporary Lodging

On base transient billeting is limited. There are several options available to inbound and outbound active duty and DOD civilian families and all personnel on TAD orders. Live Oak Lodge has several three bedroom homes and various suite configurations available. The Live Oak Lodge office is currently located at 10308 E. Matthews Boulevard and is open Mondays through Fridays from 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. for reservations and checking in/out.

The telephone number for making reservations is: 229-639-5614 or DSN 567-5614. A credit card is required at the time of reservation. A confirmation number along with driving directions will be provided via fax or e-mail.

Check in time is 3 p.m. daily with check out time at 11 a.m. All homes, rooms and suites have kitchen facilities and are furnished with all linens and requisite kitchen ware. Wi-Fi is available free of charge. Pet-friendly quarters are available on a limited basis and require an additional $80 extermination fee.

No vending machines are available at Live Oak Lodge. Laundry facilities are available free of charge. Laundry detergent is not provided.

Space available reservations are accepted from active duty, retirees and DOD civilians and retirees no more than 30 days in advance. For personnel who are neither on TAD nor traveling as guests of the Armed Forces, the maximum period for occupying transient quarters is 30 days. The 30-day limit may be waived by the activity commander on a case-by-case basis for reasons of military necessity or personal hardship.

Single Service Member Housing

Single service members in grades E1 - E5 are housed in newly constructed barracks on board the installation. Keefe Hall opened in March 2011. The building consists of 100 sleeping rooms configured as two person rooms. Furnishings in each room consist of a twin size extra long bed, storage headboard and under bed storage drawers, an easy chair with ottoman and a tv/computer/desk unit. Linens are provided at check in.

Laundry facilities are available free of charge in the barracks. All rooms have a two burner cook top, a microwave range hood, an under counter refrigerator and kitchen cabinets. All personnel have a walk in closet with built-in shelves, drawers and hanging rods.

A common area lounge is available to all personnel consisting of a movie theater lounge with flat screen, surround sound, blue ray DVD player and theater seating. A game area in the lounge has a pool table, foozball table and an air hockey table. There is a living room area in the lounge as well. There is a common area kitchen with two microwaves, a sink, vending machines and a commercial ice machine.

No pets are allowed in single service member housing.

Geographic Bachelor Housing

A limited number of geographical bachelor rooms are available at no cost on board the installation.  The geographic bachelor barracks are made up of individual rooms with a shared head.

 

Geographic bachelors authorized to reside in unaccompanied housing facilities, regardless of rank, are to be housed at no cost, with no services provided.  Installation Commanders may approve exceptions for senior non-commissioned officers and above to be housed in enlisted unaccompanied housing facilities.

Other

Pets - Full or mixed breeds of Pit Bulls, Rottweilers and Canid/Wolf hybrids are prohibited aboard Marine Corps installations. In the absence of formal breed identification (e.g., certification by a civilian organization such as the American Kennel Club) a determination of “majority breed” will be made by a Veterinary Corps Officer or a civilian veterinarian.

Certification must be provided to the Liberty Military Housing Office prior to referral of the housing application for placement on the Military Housing waitlist.

All dogs and cats must be registered with the local Veterinary Treatment Facility with proof of registration submitted to the Liberty Military Housing Office, prior to entry to family housing units.

Proof of registration will consist of civilian or military veterinarian certification of required vaccinations and a functioning microchip identification device. Vaccination and microchip implantation services be procured at the owner’s expense for all cats and dogs, regardless of breed at the local VTF or via commercial veterinary medical service providers, but certification must be made by the installation VTF. Microchips will be International Standard Organization compatible to help facilitate overseas travel.
