Bomb squad technician and law enforcement officer look on as a U.S. Coast Guard team outlines a floor lay-out and identifies a safe entry point into a building after the team’s K-9 Unit alerts the detection of a bomb at the location. The drill was conducted during a full-scale exercise at Marine Corps Support Facility Blount Island, Jacksonville, Fla., recently. Exercise controllers/evaluators monitor the mutual aid partners’ verbal exchange, responses and plan of action for handling the potential threat.
