Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society Emergency Services Office in Marine and Family Services building, 814 Radford Blvd., Marine Corps Logistics Base, Albany, Ga., will reopen Wednesday, Nov. 28, at 9 a.m. NMCRS Albany will be open Mondays and Wednesdays 9 a.m.-2 p.m., and as needed. NMCRS, a non-profit, charitable organization, provides financial assistance and education to active duty and retired members of the United States Navy and Marine Corps, their eligible family members and survivors – when in need. The general public is invited to Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany’s first “Dirty Devil Dog Mud Run,” Saturday, Nov. 17, at Boyett Park on base. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the race kicks off at 10 a.m. Early entry fee is $25 if registered by Nov. 12; after that the fee is $30. Participants can register on site the day of the event. Registration fee includes a long-sleeved T-shirt (guaranteed for every participant registered by Nov. 12), a participation medallion, hamburgers, hot dogs and drinks after the race. Runners can register online at www.active.com. The Mud Run is not a race, but rather a 3-mile fun run that will introduce members of the community to a Marine Corps-style course run, complete with obstacles, challenges and plenty of mud. All runners must sign a hold harmless waiver prior to participation, and there is no age requirement. Runners younger than 18 must have a parent or guardian sign their waiver, and parents/guardians must accompany all children for the duration of the event. Drivers without base access must have a current vehicle registration and insurance, and a valid driver’s license upon entering the gate.
